Das Modell stellt “CAESAR” einen M4A2 der C Kompanie, 2.Panzer Battalion auf der Insel Tinian im Pazifik 1945 dar. Eine von leider nur zwei  korrekten Optionen des ansonsten guten Bausatzes von ACADEMY.
Zunächst habe ich die Rollenwagen gegen einen Satz von TAMIYA getauscht. So erhält man die korrekte “upsept” Version und kann die horizontale Variante für einen TAMIYA Bausatz (M4 75mm) im Tausch verwenden. Darüber hinaus habe ich die T48 Ketten mit Gummipolster gegen einen Satz T54E1 mit Stahlgreifern aus dem sehr guten M4 Ketten Satz von ACADEMY getauscht.
Die Schweissnähte auf dem Rumpf und an der Frontpanzerung wurden aus Plastikprofilen nachgebildet und profiliert. Im Heckbereich wurden noch einige Nieten hinzugefügt und die Verzurrung der Werkzeuge ergänzt.
Die Gussstruktur der Panzerung des Antriebes wurde durch auftupfen von Plastikkleber auf das Bausatzteil verbessert.
Am Turm wurde die Zusatzpanzerung auf der rechten Turmseite mittels Spachtel- masse nachgebildet. Die Munitionsluke auf der linken Turmseite wurde durch ein Teil von DML getauscht und mit Spachtelmasse an die Kontour angepasst.
Bemalt wurde das Modell mit MODEL MASTER FS34087 OD flat und dann in diversen Tönen gewaschen, trockengemalt und akzentuiert um den spezifischen USMC Farbton zu treffen. Kratzer und Metalloberflächen (Abrieb) wurden mittels eines handelsüblichen HB Bleistiftes dargestellt.
Alles in allem ein netter Bausatz der viel Freude bereitet hat !

This is “CAESAR” a M4A2 of C Company of 2nd Tk.Bn. on Tinian Island (PTO) in 1945. One of only two correct marking versions offered in the ACADEMY kit.
I have exchanged the kits’ bogie parts with those from a TAMIYA kit of the upswept type. This gives the correct bogie with horizontal return roller arms for the TAMIYA kit (M4 75mm) and also the right upswept kind for the USMC M4A2. Other than that I have used a set of T54E1 steel chevron tracks from the nice ACADEMY set of M4 tracks instead of the T48 rubber chevron tracks supplied with the kit.
The hull “trench” weld beads were remade using plastic rod and a few bolts have been added to the engine deck and rear. The tools were detailed by adding leather straps to them. All brush guards were thinned down for a more scale like look.
The cast structure of the differential drive housing has been reworked by adding plastic glue to it and using a brush to create some roughness once the plastic was softened enough by the glue applied to the housing part.
The right hand side turret cheek has been uparmoured using putty. I exchanged the ACADMY pistol port for a DML part and faired it in with some more putty.
The kit has been painted with MODEL MASTER FS34087 OD flat. I have used several layers of washes and lighter and darker OD shades to get the right USMC green look. Scratches and worn metal has been created by using a HB pencil.
All in all this has been a nice kit and build !
